I spoke to a Google code rep today. They said "Motorola/Verizon made that change, not Google."
Verizon: Please give us the Android smles back!
At this time there are many other options than the standard smile. On the Android Market there are many different keyboard options that incorporate the different smiles. Hope this helps.
THis may be a different issue - but in composing text - there is a smiles button on the on-screen, virtual keyboard, and I can;t find an equivalent on the physical keyboard. Any suggestions?
