I agree  w/ Bigman & mjtimko (100 %).

I'm trying to stop jumping into these discussions / arguments, but every once in a while, I come across (1) that I just can't help getting into. All of the na sayers out there can say what they want but, I've said this before in other posts & I'll say it again here, this definitely has overtones of the bb storm fiasco.

Also, the na sayers can say what they want about "Verizon or Moto not owing any (1) any kind of communication or updates of what's going on w/ 2.2". The problem I have w/ that statement is, it's amazing (call it rumors given out by verizon store employees or what ever u want to call it) how many people that have been posting here & on other forums, that are from many different States, different areas w/ in those States, & dealt w/ many different verizon stores, in those states were given the same specific dates & timeline by many different verizon store employees, including myself @  time of purchase of the X, of when 2.2 for the X would come out. And yes, I've seen the official documents that others have posted links to on their posts to verizon & moto sites, w/ timeline of the release of 2.2. At this point it's not just a matter of being impatient, wanting the X to do what it was marketed to do, or have all the bells & whistles, but a matter of getting 2.2 & hoping it's going to straighten out most, if not all the bugs that everyone has been dealing w/, w/ out adding more (I'm all for a delay to make sure it works correctly, but). Not to mention (speaking of official documents) this letter that was obviously put on verizon's site, that I just got from a post on the moto forum:

http://a.imageshack.us/img19/272/vzwletter.gif

I know many of us called verizon & moto numerous times (as evident by what's been posted) trying to verify these dates. You would think that w/ all these calls that verizon & moto have been getting, that besides doing the right thing, posting something official on their websites maybe once every wk. or two about where 2.2 stands. They would have @ least posted something to curtail all the so called "rumors" given out by their retail & tech employees.

Therefore, yes I believe they should have some type of communication to their customers. After all, we're only the (1s) that pay their salaries, from the top guy down to the most jr. employee!

Of course I will throw the disclaimer out there, so in this "politically correct" world we live in, I don't offend anyone:

Well, I just got off the phone with the number cpousn obtained for us.

Spoke to someone named Shenequa (and yes I asked her spell it).  All she did was toe the company line.  Check your status update function of your handset repeatedly and when the update reaches you it reaches you.

As to a when I got her to go one record and say within the next week.  Still not what we want to hear, but it gives us hope the update will be out soon.

How does late summer breaking their word? Its not the end of summer yet. I know that some people think that Labor Day is the start of Fall, but the start of Fall is September 21..... which is 2 weeks away yet.

You obviously have no patience.   Perhaps you should be searching for facts instead of ranting and raving about someone on a forum.

I want the update as much as most people...I just am not unreasonable about the entire issue.  We have already been told when we can expect it...let them do their work and lets see if they provide it.  The thing is, even if the time comes and we do not get it because it needs more work to make it as bug-free as possible, I am good with that.   And I am expecting that if it does not get released in the timeframe that was already stated that a lot of people will be disappointed - icluding me; but some will be ticked and mad and want to scream and yell about it.  To that, I ask what good will it do.

Stop stressing about the update.......enjoy life and your phone for what it is now.  I love my phone....and I  am excited that it will be better when the update comes.   But I want an update that works, not some crap that taskekkusaf wanted rushed out so they did it simply to appease the crying.

We will get it when it comes.  Fairly simple.  In the meantime...I love my Droid X....even now.

I love my Droid X too.  Its light years ahead of my Blackberry Storm 2.

That being said, Motorola needs to understand that they need our support and right now they are worthy of our support by keeping us in the dark.  This cloak and dagger nonsense of late summer does not fly.  If there is a problem, then they need to openly tell us.

Prior to the Droid 1, Motorola's last market success was the Razr.  Since that time, they had not had a market success and they were quickly losing market share to companies like Blackberry, HTC, LG, and the monolith known Apple.

Android brought them back from the brink.  Droid 1 was an unprecedented success.

Now, I have the option next July to get a new phone again.  The primary account holder can always get a new phone if they extend their contract early.  The web already has rumors of what Motorola is cooking up for the future and I am excited, but I won't spend my money on a company that can't get their act together.

If Motorola can not get their act together, then come next July, I will look elsewhere.  I will stay with Android, but I might turn my attention to LG, Samsung or HTC.

If Motorola wants to maintain their market share, then what they need to do is give us an update of what works.  I have never heard of any issues with the new Java Compiler or Flash 10.1.  Get us what works and do a latter update for what does not work now, but will eventually be fixed (i.e. MS Exchange).

I just reread PCW's post.

I missed that image link.

If that message said Droid X was supposed to be the first to have Flash 10.1 support, then riddle me this.

Why the heck are we dead last next to the LG Ally?
