ASURION: Droid X Replacement

Is your Droid X feeling a little ill an just not up to par   or O darn it  had a accident an you need to get a replacement from Asurion.  well what would you do if sent in your X in for replacement.  an when package arrived at your door an then you went an sat down an opened the box .  an inside the box was not a Droid X .:smileyindifferent:

 

But instead it was a DROID X 2  Laying in the box would you first jump up an down an say  "Wooop Eee"  or  Run around outside in your Undershorts. while the Neighbors looked an said man whats up his shorts. :smileysurprised:

If there is any truth to this I see a mess about to kick off...  Plus I guarentee that CS wont be replacing devices for every hiccup anymore..   If that happens then everyone will be in a Droid X2 by the end of next month..:smileyvery-happy:

Not everyone would get a X2 .... some of use do not use insurance for cell phones.

 

the reason why I no longer pay for insurance, is the fact that they have a limit on replacements..... 2 replacements per ACCOUNT (not line) in a year, although you pay for insurance per line.

 

I stopped paying for insurance when I have 4 lines, and they only allowed 2 replacements.

 

They might have changed their policies over time, but they will no longer get anymore of my money.

It's 3 per year per policy right now and has been for a few years now.  Carriers do have exceptions to this rule though.  I know if you have problems with your phone Sprint will replace it but mark off one of your 3 claims with Asurion.  I don't know if VZW has this same rule though as I've only waranty replaced a couple phones over 5 years time.

 

But yes, it's common that Asurion replaces devices with a "like" device or a step up if a "like" device is not available.  It will still cost you your $100 deductible though, so concider it a $100 upgrade fee.

Thanks to the community for all the info!

 

I would like to clarify the insurance claim policy per Asurion is "two claims within a 12-month period (two claims per policy year in New York state)" with a device maximum of $1,500 (advanced devices, Tablets, special devices) or $400 (phones). At this time, this is enforced per line, not per account.
