For me it was worth it, pretty much fixed the bugs I had. The volumes, all the way around are much louder, voice frm vz nav. now streams thru my blth devices (not to mention it also updtd. frm ver. 4.7 to 6, which has added features), the random rebooting on its own, which was already reduced some after I removed advanced task killer way before I did the updt., though was still bad enough to be a pain-in-the-***. Though I have had maybe (2) since doing the updt. (did updt. on morng. of 22nd), & though appears to not be (100%) fully resolved, compared to how it was, even after removing atk, is nothing. I was getting that +, everyday & in the middle of doing stuff. Also a big thing for me, because of the safety aspect of it, was that the voice dial still works as good as ever, & the updt didn't screw it up (like happened to me when I had bb storm, hands free is very important to me).

I did however, endup w/ what really only amounts to (1) moderate & a couple of very minor new bugs. I like to power off & reboot when I add apps, chng settings, etc.,however, about (50%) of the time on reboot it will hang on the moto icon. Though, I get the vibrate & tone like u get when it gets to the droid eye as if it progressing thru reboot but, it's still stays on moto icon. When this happens I have to pull batt. for about (30) secs., but it will then reboot, w/ no problem after re-installing batt & rebooting it again. So far this has worked every time. Though a bit of an annoyance, definitely not the pain-in-the-*** that the random reboots were while in the middle of do something. And the others, are really more just minor annoyances, & are as follows:

When putting shrtcts. on home screen there is a bit of a lag before app page will open, to pick app, when u tap on applications. Also, I had figured out a way to sort my contacts by last / first thru gmail's stand alone contact page. However after updating, they're back to first / first & I haven't been able to get them to sync back to last / first (I really don't want to add app for this, so I'll continue to experiment). For myself, compared to what I had before & what was resolved, I can live w/ these, though I do hope the hanging on reboot & contact sorting get addressed & fixed.

As far as the updt. itself, I had absolutely no problem. It went smoothly, didn't even hang on reboot, like many others had happen. It took about (5-10) mins. to dnld. to X & about another (15-20) mins. to install. Make sure u have @ least (50%) batt. if u do decide to do it. Again for me it was definitely worth it, so far.

Hope this helps, & good luck w/ whatever u decide to do,

it's ok you get flash, better battery control, but there is sum bugs like it knocks messages out of order.you may want to research it if it was me and it's just me I'd stay with 2.1 until they get rid of the bugs.froyo is cool but they hyped it up way to much.I love my droidx just hope they get the bugs out.

I have read a bunch of posts about froyo being hyped too much by Verizon.  Truth is, it never was really hyped.  What was hyped is flash 10.1 to make the X more of a multi-media device.

I have had zero issues with 2.2. over 2.1, but maybe wait a little b4 updating if you are concerned about some of the topics here.

I have not had any issues with 2.2. I find that my phone is faster during transitions, scrolling, and mostly any lag I have noticed before, I do not see it now.

I have had no issues with 2,1 either. All of the problems that other people had with volume, wifi etc, I did not have.

I indtalled 2.2 the morning that it as available.

Same here.  Works great, faster, longer battery life and no issues outside my **bleep** mistakes.  Great phone and upgrade.
