My Jetpack won't connect to PC

I recently got my PC back up and running but when I try to connect with my jetpack it doesn't detect the puck itself then the only way I can get it to connect is to have the jetpack right next to my computer;  I know you are supposed to be able to connect to it as long as its around where it can get a signal.  When I relocate my jetpack to where I usually have it the connection gets disconnected...any ideas?

Which Jetpack?  What was wrong with your PC and is it a laptop?

When you view wireless networks on your computer, are other wireless networks listed?

I have the MiFi5510L and my computer is just a desk top computer and when I turn the jetpack on it shows no wireless networks listed.

No wireless networks listed … Does your computer have an antenna and is that antenna installed? Are you in an apartment with other tenants in the building or house and how close are your neighbors? You can take your 5510L to the Verizon Store and they can tell you if it’s working (don’t buy anything).

What makes the most sense here is your desktop has a USB Wi-Fi adapter like the TL-WN722 with an antenna that is not connected (or broken/defective). It works when it is beside the access point (Jetpack) but not when moved further away. Give us some idea how your desktop computer gets Wi-Fi

I live in a house in the country but I assume the reason why I have no wireless networks listed is because my desk is up against an inside wall. My last internet I had a router that I hooked up to my computer with an Ethernet cable but I do not have a router with my internet now.

You might go to Wal-Mart and buy an inexpensive USB Wi-Fi adapter and connect it to the front of your computer. If it doesn’t resolve the issue you can easily return it to Wal-Mart for a full refund. I think their cheapest one cost more than the TP-Link TL-WN822N from Newegg, it uses a USB cable allowing you position it in a radio friendly spot. But, Newegg returns are not as user friendly as Wal-Mart. Also, consider dropping by a Verizon store to have them verify your Mifi5510L is working properly. Good luck!

I can finally get a connection but I still have low bars even while the jetpack is right next to the computer and sometimes I lose connection...but I will try the wifi adapter to see if that will fix it.
