Verizon has disappointed me on OnePlus 7T pro

After Verizon added the OnePlus 7 pro and OnePlus 6T into their system in Mid 2019, I thought Verizon has managed to deal with the compatibility issue for OnePlus phones. So by the end of 2019, I decided to buy a OnePlus 7T pro, the latest flagship device from OnePlus, expecting that Verizon will make it work as well. Now that I have this phone, I fall into the same "can't receive text" situation that has occured over and over again on OnePlus phones. After wasting countless hours talking to poor tech supporters, I finally came to understand that Verizon is too lazy to put the HD1910 and HD1913 model into their system, so now all the OnePlus 7T pro devices are not getting recognized. So tech supporters now don't see an option to turn on the CDMA-less settings for us.

I genuinely don't understand why this is an issue. Users should not be forced to waste their time in fruitless calls just to realize that THE CARRIER is too lazy to update their database to allow such a powerful phone to be used with their network. This is like Verizon saying to my face that I don't deserve the freedom to choose my own device.

I just want to use a new phone. What's it gonna take?

Switch to TMobile? Any phone that isn't mainstream that isn't sold by Verizon isn't going to work like one that is.

Yeah, I have previous used an iPhone, and that has worked fine. I never thought compatibility would be such a big issue.

I'm looking into T-mobile and Google Fi if Verizon can't resolve the issue quickly. Too much time has been spent on trying to make it work with Verizon.

We deeply apologize for the issue you are experiencing with your phone, inphinity. We always want our customers to have a properly working phone.

Looking at the phones that are compatible with our service, we are sad to say but we do not have the OnePlus 7T Pro listed. We do have the OnePlus 6T, 7Pro and 7T UNL listed as compatible with our network.

We are very sad to say that even if a phone is shown as being compatible with our network, there is no guarantee that every feature will work on that phone with our services. This is due to the phone not actually being manufactured for our network.

Possibly in the future the phone you have, OnePlus 7T Pro will have the CDMA-Less feature available for it.

Has the issue been resolved regarding the OnePlus 7T Pro (4G) working on the Verizon network?  I don't want to buy a $640 brick.

Thanks,

Marc

Knowing if your device can be used on our network is important, mnordlund.

The following link will help you determine if a device is compatible with our network: https://www.verizon.com/onedp/byod?kbid=123489#/

kind of shows the quality of verizon tech support. you specifically ask the question "does this model phone work on verizon's network?" and they tell you to look it up yourself. to anyone reading this, you are better off going to an independant phone repair/service store where you can set up a wireless plan. I purchased a OnePlus 6t in EARLY 2019, before it was officially added to the network. bought it through a small time shop, prepaid plan, no issues whatsoever. I tried to renew my plan after i had to leave it deactivated for a while, which would have been Dec. of 2019, the verizon store couldn't figure it out. went back over to the small time shop, up and running within minutes. To the tech replying to these posts, your replies sound like they were typed up from a robot. Like the guy in the very first post specifically said "Verizon is to lazy to update the network with the current models of the OnePlus 7T Pro" and you replied "sadly we dont have the current models of the OnePlus 7T Pro". Like we already know that, the guy literally said it in the first post. Would have been better off if you didn't even reply, yet you repeat the original issue, rather than offer a solution.

So this is what I found on Reddit it should solve your issue.

From ramblingnonsense

OnePlus 7 Pro + Verizon - EXACTLY what you need to do!
PSA & Tutorials

So I got my 7 Pro from the OnePlus store yesterday and have spent too much time since getting it working properly on my company's Verizon package.

Verizon still hasn't sent a memo out to their support teams, I guess, because the exact same issues people had with the 6T at first are now happening with the 7 Pro. Since I spent a fair amount of time fighting with this, I got some extra info from them and thought I'd share it.

There are TWO features that must be set on your account feature package:

  1. CDMA-less Device Provisioning
  2. HD Voice Calling

If EITHER feature is missing, calling won't work AT ALL. Literally the phone app will just open and close the call, that's it. If the first feature is missing, not only will calling not work, but SMS won't, either. Outgoing messages will be sent but never confirmed (so your recipient will get 3 copies of the message), incoming messages won't reach you at all.

I can't emphasize how important it is that you INSIST the rep check these settings. They may have to escalate, and that's fine, but the front line at Verizon does NOT know about this issue. I had 2 different techs tell me the phone was working fine when it clearly wasn't, and the second one (through the Tech Coach app) actually told me the phone must be defective and I should return it. The 3rd tech's name was Lara and she immediately pulled up the company's internal notes for the OnePlus line and saw the problem. She's also the one who gave me the exact names for what to ask for, so thanks Lara!

Anyway, I hope this helps those of you dealing with this issue get it fixed faster!
