Need help activating my unlocked LG G6 phone??

As title states I just purchased unlocked LG G6 phone US997, Verizon customer service at store says it cant be activated. They said its "too old for their network" The LG G6 just came out last year and says it supports CDMA. Can someone help me get this activated?

Verizon is in the process of retiring the CDMA network, and this is what they mean when they say "it's too old". In this particular case the device is not too old, but it's possible that the unlocked version you purchased is not compatible with the Advanced Calling option that is required for it to be used on the network now. The Verizon manufactured model does have this capability, but when you buy unlocked versions they will not have some network specific options.
