Following a recent software update, Galaxy S8/S8+ devices from other carriers are compatible with Verizon. These devices are compatible for the current BYOD promotion.
The device must have software version NRD90M.G950USQU2BQK5 (Galaxy S8) or NRD90M.G955USQU2BQK5 (Galaxy S8+) before disconnecting from the prior carrier (AT&T, T-MO, etc). Samsung is developing a workaround for devices that have tried to activate but are not on the correct software version, targeted 12/12/2017.
