For all of you Tour owners (myself included) wondering if you'll be left in the dark, fear not - the Tour 9630 is also getting updated to version .732

The OTA will start getting pushed on 6/14/2010 starting 6PM ET.

You can find more information here: http://support.vzw.com/system_update/bb_tour.html

Here is a PDF listing the improvements: http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/tour.pdf

It didn't specifically list it, but I hope this update fixes the issue with a ringtone taking over the entire phone.

I guess we will learn later tonight after some of the folks start to report back after they install.  Gonna back up now just to save my stuff.

The less they post on the update is less they have to take fault for. It should be fixed since the leaks .643 and .662 it was corrected.  Also this is same version for the 9650 minus the wifi support and I have not heard of any browser clicking problems on other forums. But with RIM anything is possibly.....

Hi,

It is about 5PM central time here and I noticed the .732 OS is available via Wireless Update on my 9630 Tour.  I checked the Verizon Blackberry Software download page and it is still giving the previous version at this time.

Hi, all,

Just a quick reminder, if you have never upgraded your phone before, I have attached a pdf file that tells how to perform an upgrade on a Blackberry.

It was about 5 pm EST when I received a message on my Tour that the update was available.. I have completed my OS update and it does appear that data rates are better. I will post more once I play with the OS more.

I ran into a glitch updating mine.  It hung for almost an hour.  I will wipe the device and load from scratch.

Hi,

I got the update installed and all of my settings and themes like I want.  Here's what I have noticed.  The browser problem where you had difficulty clicking on a link is resolved.  Another problem with the previous version was with some sound files received via MMS would cause the phone to play that sound file at odd times.  I never had a problem with the sounds, so I am curious if others have tried to see if that is still a problem.  I am thinking the sound issue was a software glitch within the PTT files.  I will bet it was fixed with the PTT fixes in this update...I don't use PTT, so we will see.  Other highlights, the radio seems stable and battery drain seems normal.  All in all, it was a decent update, so far.
