Today I noticed that my wife and I have identical Storm 9530's, but we're set to different CDMA channels. Mine has 507 and hers has 586. Since the day we got our Storms over a year ago, her device has had better reception (better dbm, more bars) consistently than mine (though her touchscreen is harder to type on). Does the CDMA channel have an impact on data and 3G reception? Can the channel be changed on the device?? We are both on the same PRL (51730) but not CDMA channel.
Thanks!
Not sure if the CDMA channel can be changed, or whether it's a good idea to even do that. Thing is, CDMA carries voice over the VZW network, not data. Data goes over the EVDO (3G) network when available or 1X (National Access) network.
