Michele,
Wow, I literally just switched to Verizon earlier today, and bought my first BlackBerry, and this is what happens? Any chance of some monthly discount if this continues? I am not impressed.

I imagine that a credit will be given to affected users, right?

This is the second time this has happened to me in the last week. My phone went 12 hours without email service last Thursday and now it has been out for almost 6 hours. Without email, this phone is useless to me and not worth the extra $ each month. I hope this gets fixed quickly.

You people need to chill out and get off of Verizon's back. This is a BLACKBERRY issue, not Verizon. This is effecting ALL carriers, not secluded to Verizon. They can only do so much but in the end are at the mercy of the company who provides the software and crap for ALL Blackberry users, regardless of what carrier. Welcome to reality. Nothing is perfect in this world. Get used to it [edit]. [edit]
Cheers

Call and ask for a credit for the days it's not in use....$29.99/31 days=$.96/day.
If it's out for one day it just doesn't really seem worth it. But it's your time on the phone not mine!

Well, it is working this morning so it looks like RIM got the job done overnight.

I do apologize for not posting updates any faster then available to me. As many users have stated this is a RIM issue and has nothing to do with Verizon Wireless, except the disruption it has caused Verizon Wireless customers. There are several stories on the net discussing the outage, here are a few links:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2357516,00.asp
While it is being reported on the net that this issue is resolved Twitter users are still reporting outage in messageing:

Please let me know if you are back up and running.

Try a battery pull to reset everything and if that doesn't work give it a little time because all the RIM servers will have to reset themselves.
