It may be, but we might have also gone off the deep end with nostalgia and lost the point.

Either via work or personal I have been with Verizon for 15 years.  I have also the same frustration.  I have disconnected 2 of my lines in the last month and plan to disconnect another to go to a different carrier for service b/c I  do what this phone.  This is after just replacing my BB at FULL price because it was the screen was not working.  I'm willing to pay yet another $300 to get this phone out of contract because you are right Verizon doesn't care.

sorry you feel this way ..but as a business and personal user .. how much true control does a retailer have over if and when a distributor shipments let alone finishes getting a product down the distribution line.. I have been waiting (and I know this is far from even comparable ) 3 wks for a shipment for my rescue groups to even be shipped from the east coast ,, this is a product already boxed and ready to go.. so I know the feeling of frustration and the one more day and ,, checking and like you not reading back..  but..is the time left to wait worth the switch and fees? and can the other company satisfy your complete order?

I personally would really have to think on it.. and like you.. same network for ever.. different names came and went.. but like you .. a Long time user

Verizon no longer carries BlackBerry demo units in their stores. Period. Full stop. Reps often get confused with Verizon selling a product vs. Verizon having them in stock in stores.

What I do is go to my local AT&T store to see the new BlackBerry models. They have both the Passport (AT&T exclusive) and Classic for folks to demo/fondle. If you want to see it, that's what you do. Go to an AT&T store. AT&T's service is nowhere near that of Verizon but they sure do stock a lot of new phones!

Out here in WI, they display the Classic Demo in stores.

When I bought my Z10 I went to ATT to get a feel for the phone.  However, as a Verizon customer, I should not have to do that....

I left sprint after 10+ years because they weren't even carrying half of the BlackBerry lineup when I left and everyone of the other major carriers did. At least I could get the phone I wanted from verizon. Now I am finding out that they would sell them to you but aren't very interested in supporting them. Now they don't even want to do that. I have researched the features of the Z30 online and decided that it was going to probably be my next phone. However I like to touch and play with things before i make my final decision. After two visits to the verizon store the only phone they had to look at was the Classic (on display or in the warehouse). I got the felling that I was stupid for wanting it. The salesperson tried to talk me out of it and suggested several other brands. If I was interested in other brands I would have asked about looking at other brands. Eventually I wound up just buying a new battery for my Z10 and will stick with it for a while.

Salesperson tried to talk you out of it...salesperson wouldn't help you get it...salesperson told you it was a bad phone...etc.  Why should the salesperson even care what phone you want?  But that's the point!  If your company offers the phone and a customer comes in and inquires about it...HELP THEM OUT!  When it comes to BlackBerry, Verizon has zero customer service.  This is such a widespread BlackBerry/Verizon experience, I'm starting to think that Verizon is telling their salespeople to poo poo potential BlackBerry sales.

Here's what Verizon should be concentrating on...GET OFF CDMA AND GO FULL GSM!  And never mind what phone the customer wants...just make the sale!

I'm running a Z10 on Verizon that I updated to 10.3.2 myself. I also got kicked around by prejudiced sales staff at multiple Verizon outlets before I was finally told to go home and order it online.

Will be leaving Verizon after this two-year contract is up and buying unlocked phones from here on in.
