Suggestions on phone to replace LG Cosmos Touch

So, I right now have a LG Cosmos Touch, which was great for the year and 3 months it lasted...A little annoyed that Verizon won't do anything since I am past my manufacturer warranty, yet still in contract. You would think they would want to carry phones that lasted at least two years so they didn't seem like they were trying to annoy their customer base...but I digress. I need some advice. I am not interested in a new phone that has a touch screen, unless its capacitive, as whatever type the Cosmos has I do not trust anymore. So, I'm looking at the Samsung Intensity II, and the enV3. Samsung I could get a little cheaper than the enV3, but it seems the enV3 is better thought of. I'm willing to pay more for a phone that will last, rather than one that will die in a year. Any experiences/suggestions/advice would be appreciated as to a good basic texting phone that doesn't have a touch screen.

Have had my ENV3 over 2yrs now and love it and not one bit of trouble with it.  Lucked out and got 2 used ones practially new for $10 each so activated one for hubby to replace his ENV2 with a dying battery and will save the other for a spare.  We are all due for upgrades so waiting to see if something as good as the ENV3 comes along.   My sons ENV2 is still working good and he didn't want it replaced yet.   Mary

We have had both the Env3 (2 of them) and the Intensity II  in our family - my daughter used her ENv3 for the full 20 months of her contract and replaced it with the iPhone back in August.  My son is still using his Env3 (over 2 years now), and my older daughter has had her Intensity for a year or more.  Others have reported problems but these two seem to be decent phones  for us.  The owners of the phones are all 20-somethings and do more texting than calling, over 1000 texts per month on each (and sometimes closer to 5000 - they do use them as texting phones.)
