Shorten ringtones for use as text tones

I recently purchased a ringtone that I would very much like to use as a text tone... the problem is, the short little sound I would like to use as a text tone repeats four times, which I find to be a little excessive. I'm on a very basic LG Cosmos without even a touch screen - is there any way I can shorten this tone or am I SOL?

Well if it was a Smartphone you could use a App called  Ringdroid but with this be a Basic Device i'd say the Ringtone you chose you pretty much have to go with the way it Rings. I know even on my Razr Maxx some of the ringtones i have Chose have a More than once Repeating tone.. Hope that helps some.. B33
