I talk to couple of CSR last night and all told me that the Samsung Rogue and LG ENv Touch DO REQUIRE a plan...  No acceptions!

But I was also told that if you add a "data block" to either of these phones it will automaticaly prevent you from needing a Data Plan.  But keep in mind that you also will NOT have an option for using pay-as-you-go either.  If you try and use a pay-as-u-go you will be right back to the $10.00 for 75mb plan again...

My Rogue as of last night does NOT have a Data Plan!  So I may not be switching to the Reality U370...  even though I already bought it and it's sitting here on my desk waiting to be activated.. life is never simple....

Orded a Body Glove for it off Ebay and it fits nicely in my daughters old LG Dare cradle for charging om my desk.

I came across two user comments about a suspicion that there's a link between the Body Glove case for the u370 and the touchscreen not working anymore. But I haven't spent time looking to see if any other u370 owners have had this same problem. But I just wanted to give a heads up

Hope I don't have any trouble, but I have to use a cover to help protect my phone and went with the Body Glove because I had a body glove case on my Samsung Glyde and it did cause a few minor glitches, but the Glyde was funky anyway.  Also have a Body Glove on my Samsung Rogue and daughters Env Touch with no problems.

This all may be a motto point now that Verizon CSR removed my data plan from my Rogue.  I'll wait until the next bill and see if the Data Plan removal sticks... then I'll probably put my brand new (un-activated) U370 on Ebay.

Oh man, wish I knew I could have kept my Rogue w/o a data plan. The Rogue is far superior to the u370. Do NOT get the u370 if your Rogue does not have a data plan requirement! I would take my Rogue back in a heartbeat over the u370. The u370 is just a cheaper Rogue.

Has anyone figured out a way to download video from a computer to the samsung u370.? I've taken some great video of my grandson and want it on the phone.

The video will need to be copied into the 'my_flix' folder on the memory card

This is what I've been able to play on our u370

- DIVX / XVID MPEG4 * with an .mp4 extension

- h.264 MPEG4 ** with an .mp4 extension

* If your video encoder offers a choice of profiles and levels for XVID encoding, 'Mobile' and simple profile L3 were playable on our u370

** I've been able to play h264 videos up through baseline profile level 2.2

This person posted (link) that he was able to play an AVI video on his Reality (basically the same as the u370)

I've been through this thread a couple times and it doesn't seem that anyone ever got a concrete answer to whether or not this phone (u370) can be activated on an America's Choice plan...

So... Has anyone been able to activate the u370 on an America's Choice plan?

If yes, where did you buy the phone?  Did you pay full price or get it on a upgrade?

There was one guy who posted back in May I think it was, his name was rothmcs, and his profile info said that he was on the AC plan and had a u370, but I'm not sure if his profile info was accurate/up to date...  If your reading this, rothmcs, could you confirm that?

Thanks in advance...

I picked up the U370 yesterday at Walmart.  It was not even on display though.  All I did was ask the guy in the connection center what they had with a slide out qwerty keyboard.  He had to look in the case but came up with the 370.  It cost me $20 and change but I liked the feel of it and yes it does have a sim card slot.  We don"t have Costco here so maybe that is why Walmart sells it.  I have made several calls with it and sent a few text messages.  the sound is very good and others hear me fine.  I really like the keyboard, its easy to use.  I copied some pics to the sim card and they look good on the screen.  Best of all may be that no data plan is needed.  I wouldn't buy a phone that required an additional $30 a month for a data plan.
