Pantech Crux Song Ringtones

I have been able to put songs onto my Pantch Crux, but I am unable to set any of the songs as ringtones on my phone. How do I use my songs as ringtones? Or can this even be done on the Pantech Crux?

Thank you.

How did you get them on the phone?  They have to be 30 seconds or less.  Some phones it only works if you attach them to an email and send the clip to yournumber@vvzwpix.com   This is sent as a text then when you open you should get the option to save and set a s ringtone.  That is how I do it most of the time but I can also save mine from the computer to the memory card in the sounds folder and they give me the option to use them as a ringtone that way, this is with an ENV3 though for that.  Mary

I am having the same problem.  I cannot get the Pantech Crux to recognize ringtones that I transfer from my PC to the phone.  I read on another post that you need to create a folder named:  my_ringtones (all lower case) on the microSD card and transfer your ringtones into that folder from your PC.  I tried this but the phone still does not recognize the mp3 files as ringtones.  I am still looking for a solution and will post it here if I find one.  If anyone else has found a solution to this problem, please post it.  Thanks.

The easiest way is to text them to your phone from you email  then you will have the option to save and set as ringtone.  I know when I had my ENV2 it would not work putting them on the memory card at all no matter what folder but on the ENV3 it will let me put them in the sounds folder and they will work so I think some phones just won't work from the memory card.  Mary

I don't mean to thread crap, but when you send an email to your phone (with the Pantech Crux) as a text, it removed the attachment for me, but I found another way...

***Create an Mp3 file to transfer to your phone. The ringtone transfer is not working for files that exceed 500kb, but that shouldn’t be too hard if you are using a program like audacity to create/edit the music file.  Each ringtone will require sending a text message to yourself. Sorry if this is too detailed***

1) Connect your phone to a computer
2) Open the phone like a USB drive
3) Open the “My Music Folder”
4) Copy the ringtones into the “My Music folder”
5) Unlock your Pantech Crux and navigate to your “My Sounds” folder

***You should see the ringtones that you just saved as well as any other music you put on the device**

6) Navigate to an individual ringtone and click on it (not the play button, just the bar to bring up the menu)

***This should bring up a number of options, the first of which is "send" ***

7) Click on the send button*
😎 Enter your cell number as the recipient
9) Send the message

***When you receive the message***
10) Click “view now”
11) Click “More”
12)Click “Save as Ringtone

Enjoy

*If the file is too large you will get an error when you try to send it. Give a KUDOS if this was helpful. Thanks!

Did you make sure the ringtone was 30 seconds or less?  Do you mean on that phone you can use yournumber@vzwpix.com and attach a sound clip?  What about pictures?  That really stinks as most of my sons friends any phone they have had could do that to will have to remember to stay away from this phone.  Mary

Yes, I did make sure the ringtone that was sent via the email way was <30 seconds and I tried with two different email accounts. The text message just stated that the attachment had been deleted, so no, with this phone I was not able to use the email to text feature to send a ringtone.

Actually, I really like this phone. It has some quirks that take getting used to. If you are looking for a new candy bar phone, this seems to be the best option unless you want a data plan.

What about photos?  Was the ringtone MP3 format?  I really like the feature of being able to make my ringtone and send it right to the phone and no hassle with cords.  Mary

The ringtones that I made were all mp3 format. You can add photos easily by connecting your phone to a computer and putting the photos in the Pictures folder.
