I can help you with that, shelliekg. I love having music on my phone so it's always mandatory that I get it switched immediately. The best way would be to connect the Cosmos to your PC or the connect the SD card from your Cosmos. Move all of your music files into a designated folder on your PC. Then connect the Mini and move the files from your PC onto your new phone. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks ChaunceyM_VZW.  Unfortunately, when I plug in my LG Cosmos to a PC using the USB cable, the only thing that happens is the phone gets charged.  I never get an option to browse/explore the SD Card.  I tried 2 different computers with no luck.  I DO get a prompt saying that a new device was found but I don't know what to do after that.  Any other advice?

Hi shelliekg,

Let's make this a little easier for you. Do you have an SD card in the LG Cosmos? If so, all you have to do is move it from the LG Cosmos to the Droid Mini and the music will carry over.  If not, no worries! You can move the SD card from the Mini and put it in the Cosmos.  Open you music files and choose options and move to SD card.  Once you are done, put the SD card back in the Mini.  Keep us posted.

Thanks, BobbyS_VZW

Thanks Chauncy and Bobby for your advice.  Unfortunately, when I put the SD Card from the Mini into the Cosmos the phone could not detect it.  Then, the SD Card got stuck in the Cosmos and I had to take the phone to Verizon to get it un-stuck.  So I am assuming I am out of luck and have to move on w/out my old mp3 files. Smiley Sad  Thanks again for all your efforts.

If the files are on an SD card, you can use an adapter/card reader to view the files on the card and move them to your computer.  You may need to get a new card for the new phone, or reformat the old card so it can be read in the new phone (I'd recommend a new card).

Then, once the new card is in the new phone, use USB or the same card reader/adapter to move the music files onto the new card.  Then you should be able to have the music on your new phone.

Does the old phone have bluetooth?  I move files back and forth using bluetooth so if both phones have that you can just transfer the music wireless with bluetooth.  Mary

Thanks Mary.  The old phone does have Bluetooth -- and I like the way you think!  Unfortunately, the old phone is a standard phone, not a smart phone, so the only Bluetooth options available are:  Send/Get/Exchange Name Card;  Send Calendar.  Smiley Sad
