Many users of V10 had a problem of endless rebooting when a picture message was in the network queue for delivery.  V11 apparently fixed that issue.  I've been running V11 for 7 months with no issues.  Occasional rebooting problems when opening the web browser disappeared when I replaced "mobile email" with "mobile email - latest version".

I have had every one of the problems talked about in all the posts in this thread. I had my phone replaces once a VZ Store, and even then they had no clue why the phone kept doing all those strange things. My second phone is now doing the same thing, starting at about exactly the same amount of time my first one did after activation. I am absolutely, totally disgusted. Not only does the phone turn off and on ALL the time by itself, even in the middle of the night while charging on both the USB or wall options, but it is now making calls by itself while it's sitting on my desk and with nothing touching it. The other day someone was able to listen to a confidential office conversation because the phone decided to call back the last number that called me. That could have been devastating to my business with them! Looking across the net and on the VZW site, it's apparent this phone has a LOT of problems for the majority of owners/users. The only thing I have NOT had a problem with is battery life. However, when charging by any means it gets so hot sometimes I'm worried it might explode or something. I have had enough of the LG EnVY TOUCH and will have to think long and hard about EVER owning another LG mobile wireless product. I wish Verizon would do something about this problem! And by the way, ALL my software/hardware is up to date and running the most current versions possible. This phone is just unreliable, unpredictable, and untrustworthy. If my car breaks down in the middle of a snow storm in Minnesota, I need to get help immediately ... not only when my phone decides it's going to work!

Another EnV Touch owner who feels your pain.

I have had EnV Touch for two years now (this is my second one).  The first one did great until 9 months and it didn't shut itself off but it would freeze and you couldn't open anything from the screen...plus if by chance you could use touch screen...you would touch one of the menu icons that you wanted to use BUT another icon button would highlight and go to one you didn't.  The only way I can use it would to be open up the phone to the inside and type number being dialed etc. So I went into a AZ store and even though it wasn't under insurance...they replaced it with another LG EnV Touch.  Well 3 months later this phone started doing the same thing as the last one and once again it is frustrating not being able to use the "touch" screen in the manner it should be able to be used.  This one occasionally shuts itself off too.  Plus one time around 2 AM I had my phone next to the bedside on a night stand and I was awaken by something and noticed my phone had lit up on its own...I had it on "all sounds off"...so curious to see why it was lit up, I looked at the screen and it was dialing my sister (being 4 AM there)!!!  so I immediately ended that call.  She called later on and said she had noticed I tried calling her...what was up so early in the morning!  So I explained that my phone was calling her all by itself (or a ghost maybe??  LOL)  My phone still locks up all the time and even when I took it into VZ store, they tried calibrating it and it just won't work.  We usually opt out on insurance as we have never had issues with our phones before until now.  Today I was sent a text message from VZ stating I was almost over my data use...thing is I don't even have a data package or do I ever use the internet.  Yet when I came online, it showed I had 14 minutes of  usage on one day within a one hour window (which figures out to be about $28 extra charge this month).  Data info is stating I downloaded a VZ tones deluxe 3.5 app...not to my knowledge ( I still have the basic ringtones etc that came with the phone) and I am the only one who uses my phone. And I was grocery shopping on the date and time it had posted. So somehow did my phone dial this app and download it all by itself, like it did my sister?   Will VZ remove the charges...when I called and explained all of this, they stated that they have no way of knowing what the charges are until the bill comes out...then I need to call back to dispute the charges, WHAT????

Amen!  I have had my LG for almost 2 years now and I can't wait to get rid of it!  I have had 3 phones (all the same) in this amount of time and each one had all kinds of problems.  The worst problem though, was the indeterminate shutting off at the worst possible times!  I have elderly parents who must be able to get ahold of me in a moment's notice and I don't know how many times they have had to call someone else to tell me to turn on my phone!  Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!  When I complain the company tells me that they have had problems with this phone but they turn around and give me another one just like it!  They refuse to give me another type of phone and tell me I must wait for an "upgrade!"  I am very frustrated.  I have been a customer of Verizon for many, many years but I am seriously considering changing companies after this.  My contract will be up in September and it is getting easier for me to leave.  So, if you are reading this, DON'T LET THEM SELLYOU A VERIZON LG ENVY!!!!!!!!!

If your contract is up in September, you are already eligible for an upgrade.

SLB55,

I do understand your frustrations with the multiple phone issues!  I would be happy to assist!

I need to know what software version your LG enV Touch is on?  Here's a link with instructions and screen shots of how to view that information:

View Phone Information - LG enV Touch (VX11000)

Let me know so I can see if this could be a software issue.

Hi Anthonyta_vzw,

Let me give you a little background about my situation and maybe you can provide an answer to the foregoing community.

I purchased two Lg Env Touch Phones brand new. Both had flaws and/or certain defects from the date of purchase.

I relied upon Verizon's representations that the phone was a great product.

It was never disclosed to me by Verizon that the product had issues at the time of sale, however

after 6 months of software updates and complaining to my local store I finally visited another

location. They replaced the phone I had on me with a refurbished phone.

I was not happy that I purchased a brand new phone with issues only to receive something used in replace of the original.

Despite this, I attempted to exchange the 2nd phone.  I incurred the same run-a-round and was not

permitted to exchange the 2nd original phone prior to the expiration of the one year warrenty due to

the excuse that more software updates may become available. It is my contention that my warranty

should have been honored.

I have contacted LG, and Verizon customer service, I have made so many complaints about my

situation to local Verizon Stores, in response I receive an awww, smile, and apology including

a simple offer to upgrade.

Is Verizon to big to care about State Consumer Protection Laws? Where has the Customer Service gone?

Hi lwpman26:

I'd first like to address your concern with State Consumer Protection Laws.  If the phone isn't working, and it cannot be fixed with new software, you are entitled to a warranty replacement given there is no physical damage to the phone.  The replacements are always and have always been reconditioned devices. This is provided to us by the manufacturer.  This is with all manufacturers and all cell phone carriers (unless you have some special protection plan that you pay extra for).  The device is no longer considered new after 14 days with us, and if the device malfunctions, and it's not the fault of the consumer, we replace the phone for you via your manufacturer's warranty.  This is so you do not have to contact the manufacturer directly and wait several days for the same end result: A factory-refurbished phone (we call them certified like new replacements or CLNRs).

That being said, if you are in need of a warranty replacement, we will get one out to you.  You mentioned that you were having "flaws and/or certain defects." What exactly is going on with the phone? There were some issues on the devices that have been fixed with new software.  The most recent version is VX11KV11.  You can check for new software by going to Menus> Settings & Tools> Phone Info> Software Update> Check New.  If there's one available, please download it.

If you are sure the device is in need of replacement and can't be fixed, please call the warranty center (tech support).  Their number is pre-stored in most phones: 866-406-5154. You can also PM me if that's your preferred method of contact.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I sympathize with anyone that owns the LG enV Touch.  I bought my original in spring of 2010.  I have had to have it replaced a total of 2 x's and this last one I have had only a week and the touch pad does not work.  The 2 replacements are refurbished.... So again today I go in and talk with a Verizon specialist and he sat there and worked on my phone for about 1/2 hour to 45 min.. ( he was very nice).. ended up having to call Verizon and AGAIN Verizon wanted to send me ANOTHER refurbished phone.  And I found out today that every time I have to get another phone that it restarts my 2 year contract...  tell me where that is right.. It is like I am being punished for having their crappy phone.... My husbands phone has an upgrade in Dec. 2011 but I will have to pay a lot of out of pocket money... I am so furious on top of that fact that I am just totally frustrated... I am disabled and my cell phone is my life-line to my dr.'s and family... Why is something so simple to come to terms with turning into one of the most horrible problems I have ever had to deal with... I only want a phone that is equivalent or even down grade if I get a good phone... I will never recommend Verizon to anyone because they obviously do not stand by their product and does not care what their customer is dealing with!!!!!!  Oh Yea!  this will be my 4th phone

I've had several phones replaced over the years and my contract has never been "Restarted" for any of my lines. The most recent was last week.
