i just got my LG Revere and are having a mental hernia. My phone does not ring, it announces the name of the caller. How do I stop that nonsense? I just want it to ring so I can answer it in a normal way. I have read the dowloaded manual but cannot find how to solve the dilema. PLEASE HELP this great grandmother. thanks

We have a different model non-smartphone; but hopefully these instructions will turn off the announcement of the caller on your phone:
menu -> Settings & Tools -> Sounds Settings -> Call Sounds -> Caller ID Readout
Then select "Ring Only"
As far as the fact that your phone is ringing, while your phone is open press the volume+ key; hopefully that will adjust the volume of the ringer (when calls come in) from off to on.
