I wouldn't go so far as to say that they were constructed poorly, but they weren't necessarily made to be a rugged phone.  They were built to be comfortable for texting, and they are...I was just thinking of someone that would inevitably start pushing down on the back of their phone as hard as they could, looking for the spot, and end up cracking their screen.  For the most part, it seems like the enV3 is actually a pretty good phone, not as advanced/built for multimedia as an enV Touch, but a solid phone for texting and making phone calls for essentially people in their mid-to-late teens.  Might just be me, though :smileytongue:

No, it's not just you, Mamba.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I think the phone*is* poorly constructed.  I was just saying that *if* it is, the constant pressure could be a possible cause of the battery loosening.

Personally, I have had absolutely no problems with my Env3, and I happen to love the phone.  I've been keeping close watch on threads about the phone, and helping when I can, because I own it.  But I haven't had a single problem with mine.  I've had it for I think about 17 days now...something like that...but no problems so far.

Onipar, glad to hear you still have one of the good ones!

Had I kept this phone, my plan was to use a hard plastic snap-on case to help prevent pressure on the back.

I've considered this, since it does seem like preventing pressure on the back may prevent future problems.  I was at best buy yesterday and took a cursory glance at the cases, but didn't see one for the env3 (truthfully, I didn't look very hard though).

I may invest in one of these soon.

They have cases in store or you can order them online (and they deliver real quick too!)

A hard case would probably make a difference, and Chesterface is right, they do offer them in store and online.  You would, honestly, probably get a better selection online, although in store you get to have it immediately.  Ultimately, it's up to you.

I had the black rubber case with the swivel clip and screen protector for my ENV2.   I didn't want ugly black rubber again  so haven't looked to see what's out there.  I guess I need the swivel belt clip and want a screen cover but want something that is not ubly black rubber.  The plastic ones have prints but don't swivel and no screen protector.  Mary

I've got a Holster belt swivel clip case for the Env2. Here is a pic-->Env2 clip case. I like how I can just attach the phone to my belt and it is always on my side. The only thing though is that it is plastic. I've dropped the phone with case on about 2 tips. The 2 cases just cracked completely. But i just continue to buy because of the whole clip.  I saw another leather case clip but it was too expensive.

On your recommendations I did some quick research and bought a plastic case for my ENV3.

I'm not a fan of belt clips and such (I just plunk the phone into a pocket usually), so I went with the clear plastic snap-on cover.  I actually found one that came with screen protectors and a car charger for less than three bucks, plus another 3 bucks shipping.

I don't like the one piece ones and would rather a 2 piece with the swivel belt clip with the spring clip.    I did find this for the ENV2 but I can't tell if it has a screen protector and it says belt clip optional.  Would love something like that for the 3 if it had the plastic screen protector and the swivel belt clip so will have to search it out.  Mary
