OK,

I received two sets of email. The latest stated to send the order information to Verizon attached to a response to their email which I did. I also diligently followed the directions that I got when I called the telephone number. Those directions were different. My next step after I finish this reply is to try a third time to resubmit my trade-in for a third time to Verizon. Now, why do I feel this won't work either???Smiley Sad

Here's the email:

Thank you for using the Verizon Device Recycling Program.  You recently submitted a trade-in request for an A1349 IPHONE 4 8GB - VERIZON with Submission ID # REMOVED. The iPhone trade-in contained a promotional offer that is only valid if you purchased a new Apple iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus from a Verizon Wireless retail location or via www.verizonwireless.com before September 30, 2014.  Our records indicate that you have not met the purchase requirement.

The requirement you did not meet:

Did not find record of eligible iPhone 6 or 6 Plus purchase.

Therefore, we cannot process your trade-in request.

If you feel you met the purchase requirement, please respond to this email and attach your Verizon Wireless Order Confirmation email which was emailed to you when you completed your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus preorder or purchase online.  The Order Confirmation email includes information about your order, including the order number, order date, and the delivery date.

If you would like to resubmit your trade-in with the Verizon Device Recycling Program, please resubmit and confirm you meet the requirements for the iPhone trade-in promotion. Be sure to provide your name, address and the Verizon Mobile Telephone number of the account holder who made the qualifying purchase on the Shipping and Contact page.

If you have questions, please contact 1-877-247-3846.

Thank you for using the Verizon Device Recycling Program.

Regards,

Verizon Device Recycle Team

SamuelAdams,

Thanks for the info! What store location did you order your device from? Can you view your order information on your My Verizon page?

Hello Sandy,

I'm having a problem with the trade in program. I sent in an iPhone 4S on 9/20/14 and it wasn't received until 10/6/14. The phone was almost in mint condition with no dings or scratches. I originally received an appraisal value of $200 but now when I check the status online it's showing that the screen "LCD is not working - Screen is cracked/damaged, Device is broken - Side/Back is cracked or broken". This is a bunch of **! I even have PROOF that it was in good condition. I took pictures right before I sent it out and the pictures are time stamped. It took me over 2 hours to call the support number and then I was told that I couldn't speak to anyone regarding this matter and that someone would get back to me. What can I do? This seems like fraud. I'm afraid that the iPhone 5 that I shipped out on 9/27/14 will also end up having the same kind of damage during transit and I'm going to be screwed out of $450.

I ended up receiving a courtesy credit/gift card for the original appraised value. I'm glad my issue was able to be resolved. Thank you to the escalation manager that handled my case.

Whatever you do, do not send your phone through mail. They will give you much less than what they're offering you now. I was offered at the verizon store $200 and when I sent them my phone through mail they only gave me $36 dollars. Its a complete scam. Read about it, its all over this forum. Many have been taken advantage of through this promotion. Complete scam!!!!

It is now October 21, 2014 and I sent my IPhone in over three weeks ago.  Is this a scam?  I have not recieved ANYTHING.  What is really going on?

I can understand being frustrated at a lesser than expected trade in value... It may have been damaged during shipping, and this is why I personally would recommend insuring your shipments if they are worth 200 bucks to you. To insinuate that Verizon is actively choosing to scam everyone with this promotion is a bit far fetched.

If you have questions regarding them receiving your phone just e-mail them. It is the best way to contact them. I'm pretty sure its taking longer than expected, I waited for my gift card for more 2 weeks and I was very frustrated to find out they only issued me $36 dollars. Although it took another week for them to issue me the correct amount, everything got sorted out.
