How do I get my iPhone 5 texts also sent to my iPad?
I assume you are talking regular SMS text messages and not iMessages?
There are 2 ways:
1) Get Message + app from Verizon and set it up for text messages
2) Upgrade, if you have not already to the latest iOS version 8.1.2. This has a feature where text messages will be sent from the phone to the iPad, and you can send text messages from the iPad, through the phone and out. Once you upgrade both devices, on the iPhone go to settings/messages and activate text message forwarding by finding your ipad under text message forwarding and turning it on.
