I continue to get a pop up asking for my Apple ID Verification but when I enter it, it is not accepted. It's for my Comcast account and this password works on the Comcast website so it must be an issue with my iPhone - I have an iPhone 5C.
I hope I don't have to make an appointment at a Verizon store to reset it.
Thanks for any help.

Primordial_Soup I am certain we can save you the trip. Are you having trouble accessing any of your other aps on yoru iPhone? Have there been any recent updates to the phone itself or the app you are trying to access?

This has actually been going on for months. It updates alright when it's plugged into my computer. I don't have problems opening apps. This pop up just keeps appearing and it's annoying because I have to keep hitting cancel to get it out of the way.

Primordial_Soup, give this a try, go into Settings > iCloud and listed under Storage make sure Mail is turned ON.
Now go back to your Homepage and click on the Mail icon. iCloud mail will open if the Apple user name and password is established and recognized.
I have Comcast - Xfinity if you go to Wi-Fi you'll be asked for a Xfinity user name and password where you're a customer, this will be your Comcast user name and password. Usually that is a one time login in, there after when you go to Wi-Fi it will automatically log you in.

WE are required to use a valid email address for our Apple ID and select a password for out Apple account.
IT is recommended that we not use the same password for every account we have for security. It looks like you used the same password for both.
You have not entered your Apple ID and password into the phone recently? Apple requires we re-enter our Apple I'd after major updates. I have to verify mine after the update to iOS 9.
TO get rid of the pop up, go to your settings > icloud and sign out, and sign in again.

Thanks - I probably wasn't clear about that. I'm not using the same PW.

I wasn't signed into iCloud. Do you have to use iCloud? I don't trust it and so have not created account. Is that the issue?
To resolve the problem,
I just tried to create an account but it didn't go through. After entering an iCloud email address to use, a pop up appeared after hitting 'Done' that said "Problem Turning on Mail".
My cellular is on. I'm not using WiFi.

Getting that annoying pop up is frustrating, Primordial_Soup. Mama23dogs has you on the right path. The Apple ID password you’re using would likely be different from the one you use to log into your email account. When you’re having trouble with the password on that screen, are you inputting the email password, or the Apple ID password?

When you first sign up for an Apple ID you are sent an email to verify it is valid. You have to respond to that email befor your Apple ID can be used.

Hmmm. It says my password for my Comcast account so that would seem to indicate my email password. The popup is not up at the moment but when it next appears, I'll try my Apple ID.
