visual voicemail 3.7.10_r1 stopped working on Samsung Galaxy Core Prime

This happened around the beginning of July.  Was working, now is not.  People can call the phone and messages are retrieved by *86.  I can see the number of messages on the VVM icon but there are none there when I open the application.

Running Android 4.4.4

Any thoughts?
