Is there a way to get hard copies of my text messages that were deleted from my phone quite a while ago & sent to my home or email address?

Once a message is deleted, it is gone. You have to go through some legal leg-work to get those messages, and even then, Verizon only keeps messages on their servers for about 10 days before being gone forever.
