tethering additional cost / bluetooth wi fi hotspot cost?

Hello I have the unlimited data plan and I've just started to use my cell to get online via bluetooth and also tethering.  Does anybody know whether or not there will additional cost associated with this.  I've searched online and have heard conflicting views from both sides.  I even called customer service and they act like they didn't know what I was talking about.  From experience, has anybody noticed a sizeable difference in the amount of your phone bill since using it in the same way? Thanks.

The charge from Verizon wireless is 

  • $20.00 monthly recurring charge.
  • 2GB monthly data allowance applies to all data transmitted (on handset and shared devices) while the mobile hotspot application is active.
  • $0.05/MB Overage Rate. 
The feature would have to be added through our customer service department. If you are using a 3rd party application which Verizon wireless doesn't support,  it may be no charge to you depending on the application you selected from the Market.
