switching sim cards

I just bought a new phone and had to get a new SIM card, how can I switch my existing service from my current sim card to my new one?

IF the new phone came with a new sim, it may already be set up and just needs activating.

I had to go in and buy a different sim card, and whenever I call the number it takes me to the national payment center since I am prepaid
