Wondering why after my stratosphere updated so far I notice that my puzzle piece lock/unlock is missing. also I've notice that after i hit send for a text message my phone number appear is there anyway for my number not to appear? Is anyone else having these issues?
I just did the update, and I see what you mean about the puzzle piece being missing. In fact, the whole Unlock screen section in Display settings is missing. Perhaps Glass (which I use anyway) is now the only possibility? I wish that Samsung and/or Verizon would tell us ALL the details of what changed in this update. Too much guesswork. As for the text message phone number, could that be connected with the new feature "Support Call back number for Text & Multimedia Messages" listed in that document? Or what does that mean, anyway?
Follow-up: many people have reported the no-more-puzzle-piece issue. This is similar to what happened to Droid Charge users when they were updated back in March: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/798198#798198. There does not seem to be a fix for it; this is something that someone (Verizon? Google?) wants to happen.
WRT your phone number appearing at the end of your text messages, that can be fixed for outgoing (but maybe not incoming) messages. See https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/781150.
I also got the update today---no multi-screen wallpaper, no screen lock option (no puzzle, no pattern, no code, nothing in the settings!)--which means my phone is *less* secure than it was. My phone is also telling me that I'm in an extended area now...! Where is our option to voice concerns/complaints to Verizon?
Yes, the puzzle piece was removed and the setting for the screen lock have also been moved to "Home > Settings > Location & security > Set screen lock". The default setting is the screen swipe. I have tried the Face Unlock, but have been unable to get it to work correctly.
you can go to text settings just touch messaging then touch the button to the left (the square with 2 lines) and touch settings scroll down to call back and uncheck the call back enabled this will remove your number from your text and theirs thats it
