step by step help for adding favorite websites to screen??

Can you please help this newbie user how to get a favorite website in a widget(that is the name for an icon,right??) form on one of my screens??

Go to a desktop first that has enough room to add to an icon. Add the web site to your bookmarks in the browser. Then go to your bookmarks-->hold your finger down on the bookmark you want to add to the homescreen-->select add shortcut to home
