should I wait till after holidays for s6 edge plus?

Thinking of getting a new phone..... since Verizon "special deal" text is always confusing... I have some questions.

1.) I currently have 3 lines. I want to upgrade the phone on one of them (mine). I am currently paying on a plan 12g. NOW, if I get this 'new' phone, will I get the discounts etc..? trade in value, extra storage etc...?

2.) the s6 edge plus is a bit expensive, you think the pricing will go down after the holidays?

thanks.

The prices are set by the manufacturer. The promos are what the company is willing to take a loss on. Unlike popular belief carriers do not gentle wholesale prices like people think they do.

Brightnail, upgrading is supposed to be an exciting time. Let’s make sure it is for you.  To get started, please clarify the discounts you are referring to. Is this one of our holiday promotions? If so, which one? In regards to the cost, typically pricing on a device such as the S6 will stay at the current price until it gets older.

I am curious how much my pricing will go up if I purchase a s6 edge plus.

this deal:

Galaxy S6 edge + | Verizon Wireless

Says it is available for a free storage upgrade from 32g to 64g.

1.) Also, how much will my monthly charge go up if I get this phone?

2.) Also, what about the $300 dollar discount, if I trade in my phone.

I wish the verizon website had a calculator/feature that would tell the customer (me) what his/her bill go up to WITH the additional phone/upgrade.

Hi Brightnail, I took a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge+ 64 GB yesterday at a "Verizon Corporate store". The phone was retailing for $764 they were running a promotion of $100 off, so that brought the phone to $664. On the 24 month payment agreement which I took it comes to $27 per month. Some of these promotions may only run for 2 days, so you may want to check if the promotion is still going? The insurance came to $11 dollars per month, with a $200 deductible.

You really need a protective cover case which was $30 that was the least expensive one. The screen protectors are expensive with this phone perhaps because of the curved screen they are "$30 for a single one", not a pack of three. But Zagg who makes the screen protector is offering a lifetime guarantee by registering online.

This is the best smartphone that I've personally ever had. The Galaxy 7 is coming out the 1st quarter of 2016 with the latest Android OS 6.0, if you decide to hold out till then, I couldn't because of damaging my other phone. Goodluck

still debating ---

the pricing still seems so high.. I am thinking that perhaps as it draws closer to the s7 release, then s6 will be even more "on sale" -- or if not, I might as well just get the new phone, for the same current price of the s6. Only a couple of months.

I was hoping they'd really put on a good promotion for the s6 edge plus -- but these "$100" off are just gimmicks, imho.

What I hate is that if you are a LONG LONG good standing customer, you can't get these $300 phone trade in deals.. you have to pretty much "buy" into more service. Kinda "snakish" if you ask me. That is why people are being turned off by Verizon. Too much "how can we suck that extra buck" out of our customers, rather than "hey, lets just give them a fair deal for a fair price...".... oh well... still waiting.

Brightnail,

I understand how you are wanting to receive the very best deal possible for upgrading the 3 lines on your account. I would also, I am a consumer as well. I am awaiting to see what deals Apple will come out with soon to upgrade my phone. Manufacturer's offer may promotions during the holiday seasons. I would keep a look out to see what Samsung will offer. They sporadically can come up. I want to make sure you are aware of the best deals available to you prior to making your decision.    Brightnail, yes the high end smartphones can be pricey, but keep looking for specials as Veronica mentions. This Samsung Galaxy s6 edge plus is a very good smartphone, I didn't expect it to be inexpensive, but thought the price I paid was a good fair price.

I'm so happy with it that I will pay it off early to get the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge plus when it's released. I'm expecting that it could retail for perhaps $200 more, unlikely it would remain the same price as the s6 edge plus.

I did have a Droid Maxx and when that was first released it was $299 with 2 yr contract and I believe retailed for $649.

If you do end up getting this smartphone you won't be disappointed you did.
