setting up Outlook email

I just bought a new Droid LG Ally and need to set it up so that I can send and recieve e-mails from my 2 Outlook e-mail accounts.  I have tried and keep getting error messages.  Any ideas/experience with this?

  1. From the Home screen, touch the applications tab (bottom of the screen).
    Applications tab
  2. Touch Email.
    Touch Email

 

First email account added
Additional email accounts added

 

 

First Email account added

  1. Enter the POP email address and password then touch Manual setup / Next.
    Enter the email address and password then touch Manual Setup / Next
  2. If presented, touch POP3.
    Note If Manual setup was selected or if the automatic setup fails, continue to step 3.
    Note If the automatic setup was successful, skip to step 6.
    Touch POP3
  3. Enter the appropriate information for the incoming server then touch Next.
    Enter the appropriate information then touch Next
  4. Enter the appropriate information for the outgoing server then touch Next.
    Enter the appropriate information for the outgoing server then touch Next
  5. Adjust as desired then touch Next.
    Adjust as desired then touch Next
  6. Enter an account name and the outgoing message name then touch Done.
    Enter an account name and outgoing message name then touch Done

  4. Touch Add account.

Settings on a mobile device are different than on a computer connected directly to the site that has your mail.

 

Who is your provider??? If you are uncomfortable to offer the info, Google, "Mobile email settings" for whomever is your provider. POP3 works for incoming in most cases but the server name may be different than on your PC. Outgoing mail almost always needs an SSL connection and a different port number.
