I have saved some text messages on my Galaxy 5 and it gets saved as a .vzm file. When I try and open one it comes back and says "No apps can perform this action".

How did you save the messages in the first place?
Perhaps you can try another SMS Backup application that uses a more universal backup file format.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I saved it with the Message+ dropdown list. There is no other option

Did you ever receive an answer to how to view your messages after you've saved them? I've emailed the file to myself and there are no programs that can open it on my computer either...
Any luck?

Try and rename the file on your computer to .txt

I tried renaming the file as nicholas_g suggested but saw that the file was actually all XML code.
I then renamed the file with an extension of .html and opened it in my web browser where it was very readable.
