no sound for text notifications after KitKat update

after the update to KitKat my droid RAZR m there is no sound for text or voicemail notifications.

Let's ensure you're well notified of notifications that come through! Since the update have you been able to head into Text Message notifications? You may complete this by heading into Messages > Menu ( upper left hand corner ) > Settings > Notifications. Please ensure that notifications are enabled here.
