going form Note 2 to Note 4, can I use wifi and xfer data before activation

Already have Verizon. I want to update the Note 4 first,move over my apps and data before activating the Note 4, can I do this?

When I do, do i use the SIM card in the Note 2 in the Note 4?

I definitely want to make sure your new phone will be up and running just the way you want! The best way to fully transfer data will be to back up your current phone and then activate the new phone to transfer.
