Won't replace rebate card

Bought a promotional(I Pad) version from Verizon.. $100.00 out of pocket.

Get $100.00 back on a card.

I got the card and put it away for a rainy day.

Little did I know it had a expiration date, and yes it's expired !!

I have sent E- Mail's and talked to a representative .. And a Supervisor..

They all told me there was nothing they can do, knowing it had the full balance on the card, I said how much$& are you collecting from people that have expired cards. He said that was none of MY business . I  then said I wish I would have known this before I just renewed my contract with them !!!!

So ..

Verizon

You make how much daily, and can't make this rig

I personally never check, I just know that all rebate and pre-paid cards have stipulations. Be it that you need to use them within x amount of time before the balance begins to dwindle or that it simply expires. It's why when I get a gift card, rebate card etc. I spend it in full and usually on my Verizon bill because they allow you to use an infinite amount of cards to pay your bill.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and guess the rebate card is sent from a 3rd party. In turn Verizon can't confirm that you didn't spend it, only that you received it. You could raise some noise about it and if it was a card you activated online sign in for proof OR even try to get the card number, or the company to reissue. It's unlikely that these things will work, but might be worth a shot.

I tried Verizon and the rebate company.. NO luck. !

They did acknowledge that I never used it.

Whenever I get a rebate or gift card, I make a point of checking if there is an expiration date. Sorry, but that's on you. You didn't know because you didn't think it was important enough or whatever, and now you're stuck with a worthless piece of plastic. I'll bet you'll check next time.

If there are people in the world that think Verizon is using these cards for any reason other than the fact that they are pretty much guaranteed a certain amount of that money back then those people are not intelligent.  These cards are issued because the terms are a joke and unless you have dealt with them before you are highly likely to be swindled out of your rebate money.  It's deceptive and it should not be legal to advertise phones as a certain price even if it says "after rebate", because people actually think they are guaranteed that money.

I have never been swindled out of a rebate card, even from Verizon. If I don't get it when I should (whatever timeframe was given), I make myself the most annoying customer until I do. And that is because I DO realize they count on a huge amount of these cards to never be used. I'm not afraid to go full obnoxious if necessary!
