Wish I wasn't a Verizon customer!!!!!

My contract has about 6 months left on it, and they won't let me upgrade phones, extend my contract to get a Droid. I can buy a droid for FULL RETAIL--$500!

Oh, I wish I was a new customer. What is the advantage to being a current VZ customer.

When my 8 months are up, I will consider all my options. Screw customer loyalty.

I’ve been with AT&T since before they were AT&T,  before they were Cingular, back to the dark ages when they were Sun-Com but to dump them and switch over to VZ before May 2011 will cost me $325. How is That for customer loyalty?  I’m thinking about doing it anyway, it may be worth it! :smileymad:

Folks, it like this. I've been a wireles phone user over 15 years. One undeniable truth - They ALL Stink!

Having said that, I'm much happier with my recent switch to Verizon from AT&T.

TO the OP, fuss all you like. Any carrier that you sign a contract with has the same policy. The only way around this is the pre-paid route.

Man up, ride out the contract, and buy the phone when you can.

Gerio is absolutely correct. Just gotta deal with it, that's how every wireless carrier in the world does business. Either ride it out or buy the phone at retail. Your other option is to maybe find a deal on a used one on eBay. I'm a gadget freak, so I've probably purchased entirely to many phones at full retail. It gets pricey...

You can also buy out the rest of your contract if it is cheaper than buying the phone at full price.

And another person that doesn't understand the word "contract"...

I'm sure you had no problem agreeing to the 2 year contract when you got a discount on your current phone.  Well, guess what - you got your benefit up front with the agreement that you would sign on for an additional 2 years.  The agreement wasn't to get any new phone/device you want at any time at the 2 year price (hence "2 year price).

So, either ride out your contract and get whatever hotness is out at that point, or pay retail.  [edit]

Loyalty works both ways BTW.

You can upgrade when your contract has 2 months left, so you only have to wait 4 more months!
