Will an uncertain future for Motorola Mobility deter you from purchasing a Motorola device?

Many analysts believe that Google may just collect Motorola Mobility's patent portfolio and then sell the company to another welcome buyer.

Does the possibility of that, or even just the uncertainty of whether something like that could happen, have an effect upon your short-to-medium term plans to purchase a Motorola Android device?

Some of my concerns include, in a few months' time:

* Where will you get support from?

* Will new and existing devices continue to be considered for Android OS updates?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have on the subject.

Regards,

Mike

not really. the fact that a device is motorola is what would deter me (hate motoblur). but if i were a fan of motorola pruducts, i would probably be a bit skeptical. a lot of uncertainty around them right now. more than anything though, the bionic is the only thing that had intrigued me from motorola. originally, i was going to wait for the charge and bionic, before getting a tbolt....so i could compare them all. GLAD i didn't wait. my tbolt will be 6-8 months old by the time moto releases the bionic (or whatever it's called now).

in the very near future though, i suspect that motorola will still run the same and be run by motorola.....just owned by google.

Not worried here.

Not sure where Moto will eventually wind up, but I am fairly confident in saying that they are not going away.

Not for me.....it would be their crappy UI that does it for me from here in. The X2 and D3 have stupid issues and they are all due to Moto's software.

I'm not on the hate blur bandwagon, I don't have a problem with it.

The 2 Motorola Android devices I've owned have been great, and I really like the sturdy builds.

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another Motorola device. I was waiting for the Bionic, but since the HD is showing with better specs, that's what I have my eye on now.
