I am on my phone so I didn't have time to read through every post so if this was said already sorry.  One of the reasons Verizon is not saying if they are going to support Samsung pay is because they are backing Android pay and have invested in it.  Since Verizon knows they have the best service in the country people won't leave even if they charge 500 for a phone that costs 200 somewhere else.  Hence the note 5....  It costs 299 with a contact on Verizon and 249 on every other carrier. Just know that your 50 dollars is going to cover them if Android pay fails lifke soft wallet or whatever it was.

Just like apple doesn't

lead the market anymore with innovation because they know that people will still buy an iPhone even if wireless charging won't be available until iPhone 10. 🙂

Loader sales proved otherwise. A $50 increase actually produced less sales and less contracts than theit customers. I wish Verizon didn't update and delete a lot of the old content when that phone went on sale. Out of all the other carriers Verizon was the first to do a price drop and it didn't even compare to T-Mobile sales.

Either I'm reading this wrong or it doesn't make sense.  When I got my phone on the first day it was 299 and on that same day it was 249 on every other carrier. Maybe not t-mobile but who cares about them.  Us cellular at&t and Sprint all had it for 249.

My thought was that legally, if the device can connect to Band 13 700Mhz C-Block Spectrum, the FCC has a rule in effect for Open Network which means, Verizon can not block any device, or app, using the network. So in effect, they LEGALLY must adhere and let Samsung Pay allowed on these devices capable of that spectrum. Is that not the case? Do we really need to band together to start a petition to get Verizon's head out of their butts? They have absolutely NO right to block this app, as it will not cause security concerns to their networks (which is the reason why they block the ability to root...another bull crap decision). Dear Verizon, stop screwing over your customers who paid for these devices. This is NOT how to run a business. If I wasn't already stuck in a 2 year contract, i'd be flipping you the bird and leaving.

The Band 13 rule has nothing to do with Samsung Pay, which uses near field communication.  Verizon can't book any service on the internet that uses band 13.  They could block the NFC pickup, but keep Internet wide open and be in full compliance.

Actually they were the same price. I had to purchase the at&t and the T-Mobile version. Sprint may have been cheaper due to a promo to entice people to switch. AT&T did have a promo or still does but they do charge a $45 "Upgrade" fee unless you buy outright.

Right now I am waiting to see what features are removed between all versions. See S6 for example and the S6 was cheaper than their competitors I believe.

Hi rcschnoor,

You may want to take a look at this Google cached page from VZW in regards to Verizon advertising the Samsung Pay on the Galaxy S6.

"Contact your bank or financial institution to verify that it is a Samsung Pay participant. Samsung Pay will be available Fall 2015 on Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 devices." - Reference Link

I have looked at your reference link and your statement in quotations is nowhere on that page.

View the text version of the page that is used by accessibility tools and the source code for the current page and you will see the same on the current page today not even in googles cached version...

You mean the copyright information listed on the page as required by law for Verizon to include??? Nice try. That is not an advertisement, but a statement Verizon is required to include as Samsung has copyrighted the material. It makes no mention of the service available on Verizon.

Possibly you should have included the ENTIRE quote:
