Who thinks the Eris will get the Android OS 2.1 upgrade like Sprint's Hero?

Yeah Hero and Eris will probably get the update about the same time.  Droid probably will too since Droid is a Vanilla version and won't have to port any UI over.  Little questionable on HTC's part to skip over 2 releases but 2.0 is admittedly still a little rough around the edges and might have been rushed out a little bit to get the DROID out in time for the Holidays.  Hopefully 2.0.1 will work some of those edges out and we will see 2.1 in January fairly early *crosses fingers*.

One hour ago I recieved the following tweet from HTC:

 

Droid Eris is getting an update to a newer version of Android early next year. Google Navigation support is coming your way :smileywink:

According to Phone Scoop:

 

Today Verizon Wireless spokesperson Brenda Raney said in an email to Phone Scoop that the HTC Droid Eris will be updated to at least Android 2.0 -- with Google Maps Navigation and Sense UI -- during the first quarter of 2010. Depending on the timing, the Eris may even be updated to Android 2.1. The Droid Eris currently runs Android 1.5.
