I recently got Chromecast and an Lg tablet. The Chromecast forces me to switch to WiFi only and to select the Chromecast Network. But that Network will not connect to the Internet and will not complete the setup. I've rebooted the Chromecast a few times, but receive the same message. The setup askes for ssid - which I assume is the Chromecast network ...

Chromecast when first plugged in forms its own wifi network so you can connect to it with a client device such as your tablet to configure it for accessing a wifi network.  Once you connect to it you need to give it your wifi networks SSID (the one you would normally connect your phone or laptop to to get to the internet and its password.  Once it has that and can connect its private wifi network will disappear until it needs connection information once again. Depending on what you are using for your wifi router the Chromecast may not work  (it must have UPnP support).

In order to use Chromecast, both your phone or tablet, and the Chromecast must connect to the same wifi network.

Do you have home internet service?
