The Desk Cradle app, which I can't uninstall, keeps popping up when I press the home button instead of my home screen. Restarting my phone only helps for a little while. If I am in my browser, it resets in the middle of what I'm doing and takes me back to desk craddle unprompted. Even if I don't touch my device, it keeps refreshing desk cradle. I can't even turn my phone to the normal position because desk cradle turns everything sideways. Please help. This is a very annoying problem.

Hello melissamarie38! That would frustrate me too. I would suggest completing a factory reset. http://bit.ly/A8ykLa This resolves many minor issues like the one you've described. Let me know if that helps.

But it seems to me that a factory reset is a major step to take to resolve a minor issue. Fortunately I've never encountered this, perhaps only because I've never used a desk cradle. But to have an unremovable app that malfunctions this badly and can only be fixed (permanently?) with a factory reset seems like a very big mistake on the part of Verizon or Samsung or whoever created this app. Is there any storage or cache associated with the Desk Cradle app? If so, perhaps it could be cleared out to see if that fixes the problem before trying a reset (Home > Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications; then tap All and scroll down to Desk Cradle and tap it).

My only question is are you using a third party holster? I had this happening with my Droid X after I bought a holster at a kiosk in one of our malls. It seems that the magnet in the holster was messing my Droid X, and the cradle kept on popping up. Once I stopped using the holster, the cradle no longer popped up.

This seems to fix the problem - it's a hardware glitch inside the USB connector!:
