Saracen1955, you are incorrect. This is a Verizon problem l. VZWAVSSERVICES is a VERIZON background service. If you have been paying attention, it is the fact that this service is crashing that is causing the problem. Maybe you are confused about the issue being discussed in this forum. Additionally, the problem is not simply a kitkat OS problem. Even If it were, and the OS update was causing the Verizon service to crash, it would still be verizon'd responsibility to debug and update their service so as to fix the incompatibility. Do you really think they are going to release a new android OS update simply to fix an incompatibility of a previous one with a Verizon specific service? Again, if you are unsure of what is being discussed in this forum, maybe you should reread.

Any phone using Kit Kat with the latest upgrade is having the same problem, regardless of the provider.
This is a VERIZON app used on VERIZON phones, so it is regardless of the provider as long as the provider is VERIZON. Other providers don't use Verizon apps and would therefore NOT have the problem on their phones.
You don't update the OS if the OS is not compatible with each and every app. You update the APP which is incompatible with the OS.
Regardless, the app is having conflicts with Google+ which is another app. The fact remains that Google+ IS NOT the app which is crashing, it is VZWAVSService and therefore THAT is the app which needs an update. It is one option to disable/uninstall updates to Google+ but it is also another option to do the same to VZWAVSService. Unless Verizon gives a good reason NOT to disable its app(a background service), it would seem that would be the route to go if one uses Google+ on a regular basis.

Doing a little research I read that this issue may be an ISIS App issue as well as Google+. Is there anything you can say to confirm this? I use both apps and don't want to uninstall something that I use on a regular basis. Also, I've read a little about this having something to do with the battery getting hot, is this true as well?

gkbugarat,
I know this error message can be a pain. I'm sorry to hear you're device is experiencing the issue. As a temporary workaround we have been asking customers to clear data/force stop Google and VZWAVSService. It has not become clear exactly what may be causing the error message. You may want to test your phone in safe mode as well. It potentially could be a conflict between other third party applications on the device.
You can find directions for safe mode on our support page; http://bit.ly/yN1P80 .
You'll have to search for your paticular model of andriod that you have.
Let us know how it goes!

Go to Settings > Applications > All > and scroll down till you get to VZWAVSService - and turn it off. It's turning itself off and not being used anyway, so manually turning it off simply prevents the popup message on rebooting. It doesn't get to the root of the problem as to why it's stopping, but it does allow you to keep Google + updated and not get the error, until they figure out a better fix.

Definitely go with the disabling the VZWAVSSERVICE service vice killing the Google+ updates. It's far better to make sure the OS (Google+) is updated than some service no one has any idea of its function.

I've had the same problems with my S5.
I have rolled back updates and stopped Google+
I have cleared the data and stopped / turned off VZWAVSServices App.
My question is this... around the same time this stared, my phone stopped successfully working as a wireless hotspot. I can set up the network, other devices either can't see it, can't connect, or briefly connect before disconnecting.... and then the hotspot no longer works. I have trouble thinking the two problems started at the same time by coincidence. Has anyone else had trouble with really using the phone as a hotspot with this problem as well?

Oh my ever loving lord! There are none so blind ... . The AVS Service is not exclusive to Veriaon anymore than Andorid Kit Kat and Google+ are, and you saying it is, does not make it so. T-Mobile and Trac Phone users who have the Android Kit Kat OS are experiencing the same problem, and have been since the Android update. Those customers of ANY carrier who do not have the Kit Kat operating system are not experiencing the problem.
