Why did my Kyocera phone die after acceting an udate?

Member

Our $400 Kyocera phone which is just over a year old and in impeccable condition died after we accepted an update.  We're not the only ones this happened to.  Verizon's answer:  "Your phone is out of warranty and you have to buy a new one.  You should have bought the insurance"  Well we're still paying for this one.  Took it to repair store.....nothing they can do.

What little concern for the customer who was sold a faulty product that was broken by the update sent out.  Why is Verizon trying to drive us to another provider?

The phone charges and turns on and then vibrates intermittently until the

battery runs dead.  We took it to Verizon who wouldn't touch it and a tech

at Best Buy.  The tech tried to fix it but was unsuccessful.  We needed a

new phone so the tech recommended we upgrade so that we would have a phone

and would not have to keep paying for a phone that went dumb.  We shipped

the Kyocera back to Verizon as part of the upgrade process.  Not happy that

accepting an upgrade killed our phone.

This is something we definitely want to lift up to the software team and Kyocera, john.plaza. I don't want you to have to buy a new phone. Are you seeing any life with the phone at all? Does it charge?

Please be on the lookout for a direct message from me.

john.plaza,

I can surely understand why you’re unhappy about this. I rely so much on my phone that I wouldn’t know what to do without it. Let’s figure out what we can do to get this resolved. Which model Kyocera do you have? Are you able to power the phone on fully while it’s still connected to the charger? What error messages are you receiving, if any?

Brigadier. It charges and turns on with Kyocera showing on the screen and

it vibrates intermittently. No error messages showing.
