How are you trying to open them?  If you don't have Adobe Reader installed, download it from the Play Store.  Then when you attempt to open the file via the My Files app, you should get a pop-up asking if you want to open them via Adobe Reader.

I do have Adobe Reader installed. When I first attempted to open the pdf files, I selected the wrong application. Is there a way to re-set the default application for my pdf files?

settings > applications > application manager > scroll over to the All tab > scroll down to whichever app you set as default by mistake > tap it > then clear the defaults

I have the same problem...almost. PDF files will open files on the device storage but not on the SD card. If I move a PDF from SD to device they will open, but moving them back they still wont open from the SD card.

I connected the phone to my PC and tried opening the PDF files on the SD from the PC, and that works fine.

THis is only for PDF files.  Docs, JPGs etc. work fine.

Suggestions??
