You are "bombing" the thread.  That is a TOS violation.  You pay for data yes, and anything that uses it is classified as data use.  Social media being a huge data user.

VERIZON IS GREEDY... THIS IS THEIR OWN NETWORK!!! THEY ARE CHARGING FOR THEIR PRE-INSTALLED APPS TO CONTINUOUSLY RUNS... AND THIS CONVERSATION BETWEEN ALL OF YOUS GUYS.. I AM TRULY OVER BEING HARASSED AS IF THIS IS MY FAULT AND NOT THE GREED OF VERIZON.. THIS IS KNOWINGLY AND WANTING TO DOUBLE BILL A CUSTOMER...THE CALLER ID IS FOR SURE THAT IS WHY I AM ON THE PHONE IS THE NORTH CAROLINA ATTORNEY GENERAL... I TOLD YOU I HAD HOMEWORK... TO CONTINUE TO EMAIL ME...AND RUDE STATE...I ASKED 6 TIMES....I AM NOT A MORON!!! I KNOW HOW MY PHONE WORKS... I HAVE HAD HTC, MOTOROLA, SAMSUNG, BLACKBERRY, LG.... MY DAUGHTERS ARE ON THEIR FATHERS PLAN. I HAVE JUST ME ON MY PLAN. ALSO...I USED TO HAVE 4G LITE... IF YOU LOOK AT THE SCREEN SHOOTS....I BARELY HAVE SIGNAL... WHEN I TRY TO ANSWER THE PHONE.... IT IS DEAD ON THE OTHER END!!!.... SO YOU CAN FIX THAT TOO!!!

Sounds like our phones are setup along the same lines.  What phone are you using?  I have a Samsung S5 that has so far avoided the Lollypoop debacle.  Question:  Do you have a "wifi setting only" in Chrome?  Only option I've found is a 30% data reduction.  I've not yet restricted Chrome's access to data but so far have observed no evidence of unauthorized usage.

LG G2.  You can set Chrome or any app to Restrict BG Data.  I have wifi only by turning off Mobile Data.  Chrome doesn't give me an issue with data.  I always close out apps pretty regular and my phone does so every hour by the default stock task killer.  I use the facebook webpage that I have bookmarked, not the app.  I'm usually on top of data use given my 1GB plan.

No one is bombing your email.  When you sign up on this CUSTOMER FORUM you enter your email address for notifications.  Not one person on this forum (employee or otherwise) has access to your email address. You get emails notifying you of other responses.

You are getting angry at other customers who are trying to help you...TRYING. If you are truly here for help, why the defensive, combative attitude? No one has called you ignorant, or stupid, or anything else. In fact, mama23dogs has repeatedly tried offering help and getting more information from you to do so.

I, too, am absolutely confident that most of the apps you are referring to are not required for the normal function of your phone. I have disabled many of the preinstalled apps with no adverse effects.  Also, data is not used, nor is it required to be enabled,  for calls and text messaging. Only MMS/picture messaging need data.
