When i text an iphone, it shows up as an imessage???

Then, when they respond, it will not send unless they push "send as text" every single time they text me.  I know that it is an issue on my end because it happens with EVERY person with an iPhone that texts me.

Did you have an iPhone in the past? I know that seems to happen to people that switch from an iphone for some reason. It seems to take awhile before the system seems to notice the number is no longer tied to an iPhone. Also noticed it happens if you still have other iDevices that still have your number as one of the FaceTime contact methods.

If you did have an iphone previously, it seems that it may still be signed in to imessage. If so, what you would probably need to do, assuming you do not still have the device, is to sign in to icloud.com with your apple ID and choose the option to wipe your phone.

If you don't currently have an iPhone, it is impossible for a text you send to show up as an iMessage. The phone receiving the text may still think your device is an iPhone, but the actual message will show up with a green bubble around it showing it as an SMS. If the iPhone receiving the message THINKS your device is still an iPhone, though, it will attempt to reply using iMessage.

From your phone, simply text "stop" to 48369 to deregister your number from the iMessage system. This should take care of the problem. It may take awhile for ALL iPhones to register the change. Some iPhones may need a power cycle to register the change.

The new iOS 8.1 yesterday messed with text messaging in some way or other. It is possible it is a fluke. Oh I cannot wait for yet another patch to patch the newest update.

I will have to see how I receive my text messages from my friend on an android.
