What if I buy a phone from Motorola?

Hi everyone,

I use Verizon currently and have a Droid 4. I have the truly unlimited plan and want to keep it which means I need to buy a compatible phone unsubsidized. Say I want to buy the Droid Razr Maxx which lists for $199 on Motorola's site. Yet everywhere else, it's $600+. What is the difference (other than the huge price difference) between buying it direct from Motorola and anywhere else?

Is it all the pre-installed apps and so forth? Is it more difficult to activate it because you're buying it out of context of a provider? Just trying to get a feel for it. I'd like to stick with my unlimited plan for as long as Verizon is allowing it.

Is there anyone that could speak to this that has the knowledge?

Nevermind.  I didn't realize when you buy it from Motorola you buy it with a plan or without.
