What are my best options for replacing a broken device?

My new smartphone took a dive in the toilet. I stupidly tried turning it off and on before removing the battery and placing in rice so it's probably not going to work. I just signed a 2 year contract with Verizon. What are my best options for replacing the phone without having to pay full price to Verizon? I don't have insurance.

As long as you purchase a Verizon branded phone that has not been blacklisted or banned in any way and is eligible to be activated on a postpaid account (ie not a prepaid phone), then you will be able to activate it on your account and continue your contract.

Buy a used device from a third party source.

Get one from a friend or family member.

Buy a phone from Verizon's Certified Preowned program.

I have a standard two-year contract with Verizon. Would I be able to use

that without changing anything if I buy a used device?
