I recently purchased verizon S6. The verizon s6 modem/baseband can handle band 3/5/7 and I would really appreciate activate them so that I can use LTE in Europe. Anything possible to make It happen?

The Verizon Wireless branded Samsung Galaxy S6 has the following frequency bands. To use those bands on carriers other than Verizon Wireless, the user would need to add the APN specific to their carrier of choice. Even then there is no guarantee that the phone will be 100% compatible with the other carrier.

Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920V(for Verizon)

Differences:

Stand-by time:

13.0 days (312 hours)

CDMA:  800, 1900 MHz

UMTS:  850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz

FDD LTE:  700 (band 17), 850 (band 5), 1700/2100 (band 4), 1800 (band 3), 1900 (band 2), 2600 (band 7) MHz

Data:  LTE, HSPA (unspecified), HSUPA, EDGE, GPRS, EV-DO Rev.A

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Whether or not you can use a US carrier's phone on a European carrier's network is dependent upon that European carrier's network capabilities.  If your foreign carrier doesn't support 3/5/7 then a Verizon phone won't do you much good.  You don't just activate a band on a network or activate a band-capability in a phone.

I think you did not undersand what I meant. The verizon phone is locked to LTE band 2/4/13 (the bands verizon uses). My carrier uses band 3 and 7 and I would like to unlock/activate them on my phone. It'is written on samsung website :

LTE Band 13/4/2 (700/1700/1900 MHz) out of box;

LTE Band 3/5/7 capable (1800/850/2600 MHz);

Since my phone is LTE 3/5/7 capable I would like It to work with those bands.

Thank you

I understand your desire to use that amazing phone while you are spending time outside the US. The good news is that this phone is not locked. When you are outside the US you can pick up a SIM card from a local provider and that should be all that is required to use this phone for your time in Europe. In case you do need additional assistance with this we have a 24 hour International Support Team that are only a call away. http://spr.ly/6583B63fU

Well, a phone having the capability to use a band and actually being enabled is a lot like the FM Radio chips on Verizon phones:  Some phones have them, but they are disabled, and cannot be "unlocked."

When I'm outside the US, I can't simply pick up a SIM card from a local provider and that should be all. Outside US, carriers work with differents LTE bands for data. In US verizon work with 2/4/13 but in France, carriers work with 800/1800/2600 MHz and not 1900/700/700 MHz. Galaxy s6's Verizon variant can handle those frequencies but they were disabled by Verizon. I would greatly appreciate that Verizon unlock those frequencies (1800/2600) for customer outside US. Maybe there is a tip to simply activate them, I don't know..

The bands that the device uses (Verizon's) are set. There is no way to "make or unlock" the other bands in the device. The manufacture sets the device to be used on the set frequencies that a specific carrier is allowed to use.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just get a phone that works where you are instead of going through all this effort to make something that won't work where you are work.

The reason is simple : I purchased the phone when I was in California for my vacation. I'm french and live in France. Now I'm back and I'm unable to use the phone. This is so frustating : knowing the phone can work with the frequencies but they are disabled.
