Per Google "Based on your carrier, it may take longer than two weeks

after release to get an update"

So basically you want your Nexus to be controlled by Verizon on every aspect, and then you guys are going to complain about how Verizon doesn't do this... delay that... etc etc...

When you can bypass all of that and just buy one from Google/Motorola.

It doesn't target phones sold by carriers. It targets phones on carrier

networks

Do you have a source that buying from Google or Motorola bypasses that?

Verizon,Google, and Motorola have all been silent on the issue.

Bring it up with Google Groups.  I am willing to put money down it'll be carrier specific bought ones.  You know the ones like AT&T with a AT&T logo on the rear for example.  Verizon will more than likely do the same.  Also if you checked the Motorola/Google purchased ones and where they pull their updates from it's straight from Googles servers.

Lol... we should purchase $600 phones based on what you are willing to bet

money on...

Galaxy Nexus is an example.  GSM unlocked vs. the Verizon version.  Oh Even the Sprint version and the Sprint version of the Nexus 4.  Google is covering their bases and learned from that whole process.

Unlocked and purchased from Google/Motorola will be treated differently than the ones sold by carriers.

So buying the Verizon version on Edge isn't the same thing?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I bought one and using it on Verizon... Oh the update that was released recently for the Nexus 6 I got the update!  WOW...  You think if Verizon was in control they wouldn't have let the device on the network let alone let me update the device without them testing it...  RIGHT....

It is unlikely that Verizon would be controlling any of the updates on

devices they haven't launched.

But yeah, we'll take your good thoughts over our concerns.
